Membership:

Our membership is open to all subject to proposal by two members and acceptance by members at our monthly meetings.

New members with or without their models are always welcome. We allow three visits before they apply for membership to allow time for the individual to assess the facilities and the suitability of our sailing waters for their model.

Junior members pay no fees but must be accompanied by a responsible adult who must be a member of the Crewe & District Model Boat Club

Visiting Modellers:

Visiting modellers are especially welcome with or without their models and we will always allow  them to sail their model, however live steam models will need to have a valid recognised boiler test certificate.

Shows Attended and Planned:

We attend the Universal Model Show end February and the Model Boat Convention in August at Haydock Park.

Lakeside:

We have three bench table seats installed at the lakeside including one kindly provided by Alan Blackhurst.

Our permission to sail is at the stated times on Sunday and Wednesday and some Mondays, please do not attend on any other days as the lake is used by others. Members may continue sailing until dusk provided they are not sailing alone

The seats are for Members use on club days and members of the Public should be asked to vacate whilst we are using the facility on sailing days. There is now relatively level access to both jetties so both are suitable to use to launch models. However the grass bank is steep and may be slippery at times. In wet weather the jetties can become extremely slippery and users are advised to take great care to avoid the risk of slipping.

Boundary Park is Private Property and there is no Public access. There are two further lakes between our water and Shakerley Mere, all are open to the Public and allow access for people wishing to walk or exercise their dogs

We have amended our sailing time between May and September so that our members can sail safely without endangering the Public attending U-Swim.

The weed problem will again be tackled and we hope to be able to sail throughout the year.

Club Chairman

Mark Venables has been elected Chairman and we wish him well in his new role..

U-Swim

The U-Swim season starts in May and continues until the last Sunday in September. Sunday sailings will start from 3 pm during this period. We should not start sailing until U-Swim have vacated our area or all children are under parental control and not in the water.

Monthly Meetings:

Our monthly meetings are from 8pm on the second Wednesday at the British Legion Club in Middlewich.
